Hey, guys! I am so sorry for the lack of posts here lately, my eight month old boxer puppy decided it would be an awesome idea to chew up my laptop charger. So, I had to get that all straightened out so I could do this review!
As everyone knows I’m sure due to social media platforms, JK Rowling teamed up with John Tiffany and Jack Thorne to publish parts one and two of the rehearsal edition script for an eighth book! A lot of people were not happy with it, they expected it to be more. They were not pleased with her not being the sole writer of it, and things like that. They expected more.
In my opinion, this is beautifully done. Some things you should know going into it, it is in fact written as a SCRIPT. Therefore, you are reading a PLAY. The outline is just like what the actors and actresses are seeing. But, they lay it out in such a way that is like a book.
Being the huge Potter fangirl that I have always been, certain parts angered me just as other brough happiness. Many parts even broke my heart and made me cry. Especially areas about Snape, Dumbledore, and Harry’s parents.
This story is NOT about Harry and the old gang, they are in it yes, but it is about his son. His son and the boy he became best friends. I will not say more on that, because I may risk spoiling it for others. Just know that the boy his son befriends is not who you would think. Also, he is not in the house you would think either. There are so many surprises in this book.
If you love all things Harry Potter like I do, you will enjoy this book just as much I did. Just know going into it, it is a SCRIPT. A PLAY. Remember this and maybe you won’t be expecting “more” as some people have mentioned all over the world.
JK Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne did a magnificent job. I couldn’t be more proud of this book if I tried.
As always, link to the book on Amazon is below.
